• Core: The wood core is the most important part of the ski. We use Bamboo or Ash solid wood for their different mechanical properties. Bamboo is mostly used for its shock absorption while Ash for its rigidity feeling.
• Base: The famous P-Tex 5920 has been proven to be one the most performant, resistant high-density base used in high quality skis.
• Edges: Steel edges designed to resist impact damage in most demanding situations.
• Fibers: High quality fiber glass and carbon fiber used in different directions to optimize rigidity while conserving lightness in the skis.
• Top sheet: unique designs of colored marquetery from different essences covered by several layers of protective varnish.
Artisanal handmade wood skis are different from modern mass production skis. They are produced distinctively and “should be handled in a different way!” It is essential to maintain these skis to ensure their longevity and durability.
Here are some steps that need to be done after each usage:
• Drying: To systematically dry your skis at the end of your outings: Do not leave the skis attached, but open them and let them dry individually. Ideally, we recommend wiping the edges with a cloth before letting them dry.
• Shocks: For everyday handling, we recommend that you do not hit the ski edges hard against the ground, to remove snow for example. Indeed, despite the Aluminium or ABS protection used on the heel of the skis, these actions, if repeated, can degrade the mechanical performance of the skis by affecting the technical fiber fabrics.
• Wood Edges: For wood maintenance, the skis are protected by several layers of resins and varnish. If after a fall, a significant impact or for another reason, you notice significant damage to the ski protection, it is advisable to contact us so we advise you what to do. For independent maintenance, we recommend to regularly nourish the areas of wood with linen oil.
• General Maintenance: For general maintenance and/or repair of edges and base, we advise you to do it with competent professionals. It is advisable to have your skis re-sharpened and waxed every 10-12 use. We also recommend to wax your skis at the end of the season after your last use, in order to protect and nourish the sole during the long months of ski storage between 2 seasons.
